He was a longtime resident of Holmes Beach, Anna Maria Island before moving to Bradenton.
Born in Saratoga Springs, New York, Mr. Burns moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida as a child, and graduated from high school there. Mr. Burns did his college undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Detroit. He was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu and Alpha Kappa Psi fraternities. Mr. Burns served as Regional Director and National Vice President of Alumni for Alpha Kappa Psi.
During the Korean War, Mr. Burns served as a Ranger in the United States Army.
Mr. Burns was Vice President of Lawrence Nathan & Associates.
He is survived by his wife, Markianne C. Williams, his son, Patrick Sean Burns, and daughters Maureen (Scott) Williams and Kimberley (Rich) Jasinski, and many grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
